History of the program Athletes For Transparency (AFT):
At the base of this project, Cedric Fleureton and Christophe
Bastie, high-level triathletes, were eager to show the greatest
number and especially the future generations of athletes that, despite the discredit
often thrown by the general public on high-level sport with the near-famous
maxim "anyway they are all doped", a success at the highest level
was still possible without recourse to a doping substance or method. They
were ready to put themselves to all tests and to publish the results to all displaying
the greatest possible transparency in their practice. In parallel, Pierre
Sallet physiologist operating in the sphere of research and
evaluation in the high-level sport also worked in recent years on the
possible use of indirect methods for the anti-doping. A concept was born in
mid-2004 for proposing to athletes wishing to display their transparency to
undergo some analyses and publish all the results via the internet and an
independent structure . Le programme AFT
était né sur le papier, restait à lui faire prendre forme... The program AFT was born on paper,
all that was left was for it to take shape...
People and key dates

Departmental Committee Olympic and Sporting of Loire (CDOSL) as well as local
elected officials as part of a future testing program AFT in the triathlon training
centre of Saint-Etienne.
December 2004:
First meeting with executives of the French Federation of Triathlon (FFtri)
to explore the possibility of a future application of the AFT program on an
experimental basis for all athletes listed for high-level triathlon.

support by the company Audirep, under the leadership of its two founders David
and Jerome Tricault Donal but also the director of studies Guillaume
Antonietti, for technical development of the AFT program on an
experimental basis. The development of the first platform was made by the
Chief Information Officer of the company Franck Desfossez.
March 2005: Second meeting held at MJSVA in the presence of various protagonists
already mentioned above at the first meeting and representatives of the
National Consultative Ethics Committee for the life sciences and health
(CCNE) and within the framework of the presentation the experimental platform
and under a consultation on the modalities for implementing the project.
May 2005:

Medical Director of WADA, and Dr. Olivier Rabin, Director of
Sciences WADA have worked hard to this validation program AFT as a pilot
research project.

and the General Council of Drôme to financially
support the AFT program by associating it to the development of a national
centre for experimental research and expertise in toxicology and
eco-toxicology on the site of Rovaltain technology park. At the same
time, an overhaul of the legal statutes of the Association Athletes For
Transparency led by Laurent Fourmon, allows the extension of
the Board of Directors now consisting of Claude Lardy, Dr. Elisabeth
